If you do not wish for our firm to represent you for any reason, or if we turn your case down and you want another opinion, one of the best ways to find a lawyer is simply by word of mouth. If you have any friends or relatives who are lawyers, ask them for their advice on choosing a lawyer in this specialty. Yellow pages, advertising, and web pages can be helpful provided that the advertisements actually contain useful information about the attorneys and their backgrounds.
A word of caution: If you interview more than one lawyer, be careful not to choose one solely because that lawyer predicted you might be able to recover more money than the other lawyers did. That lawyer may persuade you to hire him or her, but then later explain to you that the case is not coming along as well as expected, and so the value is actually less than promised. Good lawyers will seldom give an opinion on the value of a case until they have had an opportunity to thoroughly investigate the case and have the records reviewed by experts. Even then, case value is a complicated proposition and not a shoot-from-the-hip matter, and even the best lawyers can be wrong about it. No two cases are alike.
