Florida Not in U.S. News and World Report of Top 20 Hospitals
U.S. News and World Report released its list of the nation’s top 20 hospitals, but no hospitals in Florida were named. Mayo Clinic- Florida in Jacksonville was ranked as the best hospital in Florida for adults. Mayo Clinic- Florida offered 10 adult specialties with high ratings in treating 19 different conditions. Meanwhile, Johns Hopkins All Children’s in St. Petersburg was ranked the top hospital in Florida for kids.
Tampa General Hospital was ranked second in Florida and is known for its top medical specialties. Tampa General partners with USF Health for research and innovation.
UF Health Shands in Gainesville ranked third, followed by Advent Health Orlando and Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Rankings were based on measures like mortality rates, complications, and nursing care quality from CMS data. U.S. News has published hospital rankings for 35 years, aiming to help patients make informed healthcare decisions.
