Nemours given $7 million to help fund new cancer treatment options
Nemours Children’s Health received $7 million from the Pass It On to Kids Foundation. The money will be put to several uses within Nemours, including to help fight neuroblastoma and ovarian cancers. Neuroblastoma is a rare and serious cancer that mainly affects children. Researchers at Nemours are studying the use of the Zika virus to treat these cancers. It’s been found that the Zika virus may help destroy cancer cells, more specifically within ovarian cancer and neuroblastoma. The funds will also go to supporting the music therapy programs at Nemours.
