Eight Hospitals in Florida Involved in Bankruptcy
Steward Health Care, which runs 31 hospitals in the US, including eight in Florida, has filed for bankruptcy. The company says its hospitals will stay open and work as usual while they fix their financial issues. Steward Health Care claims it is working hard to keep providing care despite the tough times in the health care industry. They had to file for bankruptcy because a deal they were counting on got delayed. The company’s leaders say they are doing their best for their patients, doctors, workers, and communities.
The eight hospitals that Steward Health Care operates in Florida are Coral Gables Hospital, Hialeah Hospital, North Shore Medical Center, Palmetto General Hospital in Miami-Dade County; Florida Medical Center in Broward; Melbourne Regional Medical Center and Rockledge Regional Medical Center in Brevard; and Sebastian River Medical Center in Indian River.
