Infant’s penis severed in a botched circumcision

A Florida doctor botched a circumcision in 2021 and severed an infant’s penis. The doctor did not inform the parents that his medical license was revoked 10 days before the incident. This case resulted in a $100 million malpractice verdict against the doctor. It was also suggested that this doctor was linked to several other serious injuries and six patient deaths. Two of the 6 patient deaths were infant deaths.

The details of the botched circumcision were that one-third of the infant’s penis was severed. The doctor tried to stop the bleeding for 45 minutes and told the family that the bleeding was normal. The parents sought help from a pediatric urologist who was equally shocked by the injury.
