Walmart Announces Closure of all 23 of its Health Locations in Florida

Walmart is closing all 51 of its “Walmart Health” locations across 5 states. Almost half the Health centers are in Florida, and the remainder are in Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois and Texas. The closures are effective today, June 28, 2024. According to Walmart, the Health offerings turned out to be an unsustainable business model, citing difficulty of obtaining health insurance reimbursement.

Unfortunately, Walmart states it will not help its patients by providing them with contact information for alternative healthcare providers. Its shameful recommendation to its patients is that they “search ZocDoc and Healthgrades” and find new providers on their own.

Walmart wants you to know that its pharmacies and vision centers remain open.
